it has been awhile

The next series of my "Wee Folk" is in the works...

This would be Alfonzo!

It took awhile, but a lot has been happening!

I have moved and am in the stages of working on my New studio! 

I am dealing with the Injuries I suffered too my hands from last year and 

great full to all those friends who helped me over the last YEAR!

I will be very busy working on the new studio 

and hope to get things un-packed and in thier proper places soon

Most of all getting my creative side in full gear!



Hand sewing is only one stitch at a time...

Sheaffe Coat # Four

Hello everyone...

it has been awhile since I last posted.

So much has been happening!

Brock's Funeral in NOTL, On

This was such an amazing couple of weeks in the fall of 2012!

I was honoured to be selected

 to design and sew the Sheaffe Coats.

Number one: Was for Stephen Sheaffe

Number two: was for Paul Sheaffe

Number Three was the practice sews and it

went to Dr Tom Pekar

Number four

Which I finally have completed.

This one is going to the museum in Niagara on the Lake

Sir Roger Hale Sheaffe Descendants Discover DeCew House | What's On Thorold

The Sheaffes, (Stephen and Glenda, and Paul Sheaffe and his daughters Hannah and Sarah) are touring Ontario, including stays in Ottawa and Buffalo, in addition to Niagara during the end of September and the first weeks of October, following the family’s donation  and repatriation of battle and other War of 1812-1814 artefacts to Ontario in a ceremony with the Lieutenant Governor last week. While in Thorold over October 9th and 10th, Paul, Stephen and Glenda Sheaffe will also be speaking to many school groups, including Thorold Secondary School, and an elementary school yet to be scheduled, as well as historical societies and other organizations.

Dressed in my 1800’s handmade outfit attending as many of the special events 

As possible between sewing and doing my shows.

Sir Roger Hale Sheaffe's Replica Coats...Part 1

I received a lovely  email from a  Mr Henderson, early in August, 2012

He wanted us to make some 1812 outfits for the Bicentennial  Events coming up in Sept-Oct 2012...

He asked if we could make one for himself, A full Gentleman's Outfit 1812 Along with a Man's Canvas Haversack.

  So we began with a series of emails then fittings and picking of fabrics.

 Linda choose a striped fabric with a silver thread  for the main Day Dress.  Along with Blue-Black Bahamian Linen for her Pelise. I accented her outfit with simple ruffle trims, rust  ribbons , and embroidery on the back of her pelise too match her Reticule

This outfit had to be finished for a speaking engagement two weeks after her first fitting.

Her hand sewn"day cap" and Chemise are made from 100% cotton

If you have had the opportunity to see her at some events around Ontario you can be sure she will show you her chemises detailing her initial "S"

as I strolled around the thousands of people trying to watch this historic event!
